Overview

NNC9204-0530 is a long-acting Peptide YY (PYY) analog developed by Novo Nordisk for the treatment of obesity and overweight. It functions as a selective agonist of the Neuropeptide Y receptor Y2 (NPY2R), mimicking the satiety-inducing effects of endogenous PYY3-36. By activating NPY2R in the hypothalamus and other brain regions involved in energy homeostasis, the drug aims to reduce appetite and food intake. NNC9204-0530 is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials, both as a monotherapy and in combination with other weight-management agents such as the GLP-1 receptor agonist liraglutide, to explore synergistic effects on weight reduction.
