NNC9204-1706

NNC9204-1706 (also known as NN9423) is a peptide-based triple agonist targeting the glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor (GLP-1R), gastric inhibitory polypeptide receptor (GIPR), and glucagon receptor. It was developed by Novo Nordisk for the treatment of obesity and overweight. The drug was administered via subcutaneous injection and underwent phase 1 clinical trials to assess safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in overweight or obese individuals. However, development was discontinued after phase 1 due to an inadequate safety profile characterized by dose-dependent increases in heart rate, reductions in reticulocyte count, increased markers of inflammation and hepatic disturbances, as well as impaired glucose tolerance at higher doses[1][2][3][6].
