Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Nobivac Rabies** is an inactivated, adjuvanted veterinary vaccine containing rabies virus strain Pasteur RIV (≥2 mouse potency IU per dose, adjuvanted with aluminum phosphate) designed for active immunization of dogs, cats, ferrets, cattle, and sheep against rabies infection. It induces a protective serological response (≥0.5 IU) within 2-3 weeks post-vaccination, with a proven duration of immunity of 3 years in dogs and cats (1 year in some formulations or species like cattle/sheep). Administered as a single 1 mL dose subcutaneously or intramuscularly starting at 12 weeks of age (earlier with revaccination at 12 weeks), it is produced by MSD Animal Health (Merck Animal Health in some regions) on an established cell line, is safe in pregnant dogs based on field data, contains preservatives like gentamicin and thiomersal, and can be mixed with select Nobivac core vaccines but not leptospirosis vaccines.[1][2][3][4]
