Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NobrXiol is an investigational intranasal cannabidiol (CBD) formulation being developed for the management of epilepsy in children and adults, specifically targeting rare pediatric epilepsy syndromes including Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome, Dravet Syndrome, and tuberous sclerosis complex. It utilizes Nanomerics' Molecular Envelope Technology (MET) as its delivery system to cross the blood-brain barrier, propelling the cannabidiol nanoparticles through the nose to the brain via the olfactory nerve. This nasal delivery method may potentially eliminate drug interaction issues and bypass the digestive system, possibly reducing many side effects associated with current oral CBD treatments. The formulation aims to achieve higher bioavailability via the nasal route, faster onset, and reduced peripheral side effects.
