Overview

NociPro is a modality-agnostic promoter platform developed by Encoded Therapeutics for the precise cellular targeting of nociceptor sensory neurons. Designed for use in gene therapy, the platform enables highly targeted and cell-type-selective control of gene expression within the peripheral nervous system. By restricting the expression of therapeutic payloads to specific pain-sensing neurons, NociPro aims to provide a more effective and safer treatment for chronic pain conditions. Preclinical data demonstrating the platform's capabilities were presented at the American Society of Gene & Cell Therapy (ASGCT) conference in May 2026.
