Noclot, specifically known by its product name noClot-50, is an FDA-approved anticoagulant and blood-processing product. It is a small volume anticoagulant that was originally developed by Cytosol Laboratories. The product was strategically acquired by Biomet to ensure a critical supply component for its proprietary platelet separation and concentration systems, such as GPS® III and BioCue™. Biomet also expressed intentions to explore additional clinical applications for noClot-50, particularly in areas like granulocytapheresis and the enhancement of stored red blood cells.
