Nodavac-R

Nodavac-R is a recombinant monovalent vaccine developed by Indian Immunologicals Limited (IIL) in partnership with the Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture (CIBA). It is designed to prevent Viral Nervous Necrosis (VNN), also known as viral encephalopathy and retinopathy (VER), a devastating disease caused by the nervous necrosis virus (Betanodavirus) that affects various marine, brackishwater, and freshwater fish species. The vaccine is a recombinant biologic intended to induce protective immunity in finfish, thereby reducing the high mortality rates (up to 100%) typically seen in larval and early juvenile stages and preventing vertical transmission of the virus to offspring. This product represents India's first commercial fish vaccine and is part of a strategic effort to reduce antibiotic reliance in aquaculture.
