Overview

Nodosis is a sodium bicarbonate-based pharmaceutical product developed and marketed by Steadfast Medishield (now Steadfast Limited) for renal care and electrolyte management. As an alkalizing agent, it provides bicarbonate ions that neutralize hydrogen ion concentration in the blood and urine, effectively treating metabolic acidosis and promoting urinary alkalinization. It is specifically indicated for patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) to manage acid-base imbalances, as well as for electrolyte replacement in conditions like severe diarrhea. The product is available in various formulations, including standard tablets (500mg), double-strength (DS) tablets (1000mg), enteric-coated (GST) tablets for gastric protection, oral suspension, and granules.
