Nolasiban (also known as OBE001 or erlosiban) is an orally administered small molecule oxytocin receptor antagonist developed primarily to improve outcomes in assisted reproductive technology (ART), specifically in vitro fertilization (IVF). By selectively blocking the oxytocin receptor, nolasiban inhibits myometrial contractions and inflammation elicited by oxytocin, which can enhance uterine blood flow and endometrial receptivity to embryo implantation. This mechanism aims to increase successful implantation rates, clinical pregnancies, and live births among women undergoing IVF procedures. Nolasiban has demonstrated dose-dependent inhibition of uterine contractions and increased endometrial perfusion in clinical studies. It is more selective for the oxytocin receptor than similar agents like atosiban and does not exhibit biased agonistic effects on pro-inflammatory pathways[1][2][4][6][8].
