Overview

Noliglutide (HRS-9499) is a long-acting glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist developed by Jiangsu Hengrui Medicine for the treatment of metabolic disorders, including obesity and type 2 diabetes. As a GLP-1 analog, it mimics the action of the endogenous incretin hormone, which enhances glucose-dependent insulin secretion, suppresses glucagon release, and slows gastric emptying. In the context of weight management, noliglutide promotes satiety and reduces caloric intake by acting on appetite centers in the brain. It is currently undergoing clinical evaluation to assess its efficacy and safety in patients with overweight or obesity, representing a potential therapeutic option in the rapidly evolving landscape of incretin-based therapies.
