Nolitide (also known as SHR-1209) is a peptide-based glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist developed by Jiangsu Hengrui Medicine for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. As an incretin mimetic, it binds to and activates the GLP-1 receptor, which stimulates glucose-dependent insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells, suppresses glucagon secretion, and slows gastric emptying. These physiological effects collectively improve glycemic control and may support weight management in patients with type 2 diabetes. Nolitide has been investigated in Phase 1 and Phase 2 clinical trials in China, primarily administered via subcutaneous injection to evaluate its safety, tolerability, and efficacy in patients with inadequately controlled blood glucose levels.
