Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NomiCell is an optimized, placenta-derived (specifically umbilical cord-derived) mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) therapy developed by Aureum Therapeutics. It is designed to restore immune tolerance at the maternal-fetal interface to treat recurrent miscarriage (recurrent pregnancy loss) and is also being investigated for its potential to treat cancer by disrupting tumor-feeding blood vessels. NomiCell is optimized for enhanced immunomodulatory activity, specifically leveraging its ability to secrete interleukin-10 (IL-10) to correct natural killer (NK) cell abnormalities, promote regulatory T cell (Treg) expansion, and suppress pro-inflammatory cytokines. In preclinical studies using the established CBA/J x DBA/2 mouse model of recurrent pregnancy loss, NomiCell demonstrated superior prevention of fetal loss compared to standard bone marrow-derived and umbilical cord-derived MSCs, with clinical trials planned to commence.
