Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Non biotransformed soybean extract (NBSE) is a natural extract derived from soybeans that has not undergone a biotransformation process. In studies comparing its efficacy to biotransformed soybean extract (BSE), NBSE failed to inhibit the growth and viability of aggressive melanoma cells (A375 and 451Lu) in vitro. This indicates that, unlike BSE, NBSE does not possess the antiproliferative or proapoptotic properties against melanoma cells under the tested conditions. The biotransformation process, which increases concentrations of isoflavonoids like daidzein and genistein, appears crucial for the anti-cancer effects observed in BSE.
