Overview

The nondisclosed cGAS candidate is an early-stage therapeutic program under development by ImmuneSensor Therapeutics. It is designed to target the cyclic GMP-AMP synthase (cGAS) enzyme, a critical sensor of cytosolic DNA that initiates the cGAS-STING innate immune signaling pathway. Chronic or aberrant activation of this pathway is linked to various inflammatory and autoimmune conditions, known as cGAS-driven diseases or Type I interferonopathies. By inhibiting cGAS, the candidate aims to block the synthesis of cyclic GMP-AMP (cGAMP) and prevent the downstream induction of pro-inflammatory cytokines and interferons. This candidate is distinct from the company's lead program, IMSB301, and represents a separate asset within their pipeline focused on pathologic inflammation.
