Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NoNO-42 is a peptide-based drug developed as an analog of nerinetide for the treatment of acute ischemic stroke. It acts as a PDZ domain inhibitor, specifically targeting postsynaptic density protein 95 (PSD95), which plays a key role in excitotoxic signaling pathways implicated in neuronal injury following stroke. By inhibiting PSD95-mediated interactions, NoNO-42 aims to reduce neural damage and improve outcomes after acute ischemic events. The drug is being developed by NoNO and has reached Phase II clinical trials for stroke. Its primary route of administration is intravenous infusion[2][3][5].
