Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NoNO-SC is a peptide-based PSD-95 inhibitor developed by NoNO Inc. for the treatment of subacute and chronic neurological conditions. It is designed for subcutaneous administration, offering rapid onset and a long duration of action to support neuroprotection and neurorestoration. The mechanism involves uncoupling the postsynaptic density protein-95 (PSD-95) from neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) and NMDA receptors, which prevents excitotoxic signaling without interfering with normal synaptic transmission. This drug is currently in preclinical development for indications including stroke recovery, vascular dementia, Alzheimer's disease, and retinal ischemia.
