Overview

Nonpegylated liposomal doxorubicin + trastuzumab is a combination therapy consisting of two distinct agents used primarily in the treatment of HER2-positive breast cancer. Nonpegylated liposomal doxorubicin is an anthracycline chemotherapeutic encapsulated in a non-PEGylated liposome, designed to deliver doxorubicin more selectively to tumor tissue and reduce systemic toxicity compared to conventional formulations. Trastuzumab is a monoclonal antibody that targets the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2), which is overexpressed in certain types of breast and gastric cancers. The combination leverages the cytotoxic effects of doxorubicin with the targeted anti-HER2 activity of trastuzumab, providing synergistic antitumor efficacy for patients with HER2-positive malignancies[3][5].
