NORA520 is an oral prodrug that is hydrolyzed to brexanolone. It functions as a positive allosteric modulator (PAM) of the GABA-A receptor. The drug consists of an active moiety with rapid onset of action plus two additional moieties that prolong half-life and promote oral absorption.
