Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NORDBIOTIC Gluten digest is a probiotic-based dietary supplement developed by Nordic Biotic to aid in the digestion of gluten-containing foods. It consists of a specific formulation of bacterial strains, including *Lacticaseibacillus casei* LC130, *Lacticaseibacillus paracasei* LPC100, and *Streptococcus thermophilus* ST250. The mechanism of action involves the production of bacterial peptidases that hydrolyze immunogenic gluten peptides, such as the 33-mer gliadin peptide, thereby reducing their immunoreactivity. This product is intended for oral administration to support individuals with gluten-related conditions, such as celiac disease or non-celiac gluten sensitivity, by mitigating the effects of accidental or intentional gluten consumption. In vitro studies have demonstrated that the combination of these strains is more effective at degrading gluten peptides than individual strains alone.
