Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A pharmaceutical combination of normal saline (0.9% sodium chloride) and tropisetron hydrochloride used primarily in medical settings for preventing and treating nausea and vomiting, particularly in patients undergoing chemotherapy or surgery. Studies have shown this combination is compatible and stable, maintaining physical and chemical integrity for up to 48 hours when stored at both 4°C (with protection from light) and 25°C (without protection from light), retaining at least 97% of the initial tropisetron concentration. Tropisetron acts as a 5-HT3 receptor antagonist.
