Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Normast MPS is a food for special medical purposes (FSMP) developed and marketed by Epitech Group SpA. It contains a patented combination of micronized palmitoylethanolamide (PEA-m, 300 mg) and ultra-micronized palmitoylethanolamide (PEA-um, 600 mg). As an ALIAmide (Autacoid Local Injury Antagonist amide), its mechanism of action involves the modulation of non-neuronal immune cells, including mast cells, microglia, and astrocytes, to control neuroinflammation and pain sensitization. The product is specifically indicated for the management of Mixed Pain Syndrome (MPS), particularly neuropathic and mixed pain associated with osteo-articular conditions such as Complex Regional Pain Syndrome and Patellofemoral Pain, as well as broader neurodegenerative and neuroinflammatory conditions. It is administered orally and is commercially available in Italy.
