Norovirus-specific T-cell (NST) therapy is an investigational adoptive cellular immunotherapy developed by the Children's National Research Institute. It is designed to treat chronic norovirus infection in immunocompromised individuals, such as those who have undergone hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT), solid organ transplantation (SOT), or those with primary immunodeficiency disorders (PID). The therapy involves the infusion of T lymphocytes specifically targeted against norovirus antigens to reconstitute the patient's virus-specific immune response. These T cells can be derived from the original stem cell donor or from partially HLA-matched third-party donors. It is currently being evaluated in the Phase I ATLANTIC clinical trial to assess safety and preliminary efficacy in clearing persistent norovirus infection.
