Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Notoginseng leaf, derived from the dried leaves of *Panax notoginseng*, is a traditional Chinese medicinal herb and dietary supplement. It is rich in dammarane-type triterpenoid saponins (primarily protopanaxadiol-type saponins such as ginsenosides Rb3, Rb1, Rc, and Rd), flavonoids, and polysaccharides. It is traditionally used to nourish blood, improve blood circulation, disperse blood stasis, relieve pain, and reduce inflammation. Modern pharmacological studies have demonstrated that notoginseng leaf and its extracts possess neuroprotective, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and sedative-hypnotic properties, making it useful for treating insomnia, palpitations, anxiety, and ischemic stroke.
