Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Nourexin-4 is an experimental anti-inflammatory drug candidate being developed by Nour Heart for the treatment of influenza. The compound is designed to mitigate the severe inflammatory response, often referred to as a cytokine storm, and the subsequent lung injury that can occur during highly pathogenic influenza infections. Preclinical data for Nourexin-4 was presented at the 2010 American Association of Immunologists (AAI) conference, where it demonstrated the potential to reduce pulmonary inflammation and improve survival rates in animal models of viral infection. As of the latest available pipeline information, the drug remains in the preclinical stage of development, and its specific molecular target has not been publicly disclosed by the developer.
