NouvSoma002-01 is an investigational exosome-based therapy composed of extracellular vesicles (EVs) derived from human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). Developed by iRegene Therapeutics, it is specifically being evaluated for the treatment of Moyamoya disease, a progressive cerebrovascular disorder characterized by the narrowing of internal carotid arteries. The therapy is designed to leverage the regenerative and anti-inflammatory potential of iPSC-derived EVs to stimulate angiogenesis (vascular regeneration) and facilitate the establishment of intracranial and extracranial collateral circulation. In clinical trials, NouvSoma002-01 is administered locally in combination with surgical procedures, such as temporal muscle flap application, to enhance revascularization and improve neurological outcomes by inhibiting the release of pro-inflammatory factors from glial cells.
