NOV-002 + carboplatin is a combination therapy comprising **NOV-002**, a mimetic of oxidized glutathione (GSSG), and **carboplatin**, a DNA crosslinking platinum-based chemotherapeutic. NOV-002 modulates cellular redox balance through S-glutathionylation of proteins, impacting signaling pathways including AKT, JAK2, and STAT5, and acts as an immunostimulant and myeloproliferative agent. Carboplatin exerts cytotoxicity by DNA crosslinking and interfering with cell division. As a combination, this regimen was investigated for enhanced efficacy and tolerance of chemotherapy, particularly in advanced non–small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and platinum-resistant ovarian cancer. NOV-002 does not directly add to carboplatin's cytotoxicity but aims to improve hematologic recovery and reduce chemotherapy toxicity via redox modulation[1][2][3][4][5].
