Overview

NOV-002 is a formulation of disodium glutathione disulfide (GSSG) that modulates signaling pathways involved in tumor cell proliferation and metastasis and enhances anti-tumor immune responsiveness. When combined with chemotherapy agents cyclophosphamide, docetaxel, and doxorubicin (AC→T regimen), it has been investigated for treatment of HER-2 negative breast cancer. The combination works by NOV-002 stimulating the immune system and potentially stopping tumor cells from growing, while the chemotherapy drugs work in different ways to stop tumor cell growth by killing cells or stopping them from dividing. This combination has shown promising results in Phase 2 studies.
