Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Novas-E** is a marketed delayed-release fixed-dose oral tablet from Maks Drug containing naproxen 500 mg and esomeprazole 20 mg. It combines naproxen, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that suppresses prostaglandin synthesis to relieve pain and inflammation, with esomeprazole, a proton-pump inhibitor that reduces gastric acid secretion and helps lower the risk of NSAID-associated gastric ulcers. The formulation releases esomeprazole immediately before delayed release of enteric-coated naproxen in the small intestine. It is indicated for osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis in patients requiring NSAID therapy who are at risk of gastric ulcers.
