NoveCite Cells (NC-MSCs) are an allogeneic, off-the-shelf mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) therapy derived from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). Developed by Novellus Therapeutics and licensed by Citius Pharmaceuticals, these cells are produced using a proprietary non-immunogenic synthetic messenger RNA (mRNA) technology to reprogram cells into iPSCs and then differentiate them into MSCs. This manufacturing process is designed to ensure scalability and consistency, overcoming the limitations of donor-derived MSCs. The primary therapeutic focus is the treatment of Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), including cases associated with COVID-19, by leveraging the immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory properties of MSCs to reduce lung injury and improve patient outcomes.
