Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NOVO-111 is a novel gadolinium(III) texaphyrin-platinum(IV) complex developed by Innovotex as a tumor-targeted prodrug of oxaliplatin. The molecule utilizes a texaphyrin macrocycle to enhance tumor localization and redox activity, aiming to improve the delivery of platinum(II) species to malignant tissues while minimizing systemic toxicity. Preclinical studies in colorectal cancer models (HCT-116) demonstrate that NOVO-111 achieves higher platinum accumulation in tumors and superior growth inhibition compared to oxaliplatin, with a favorable safety profile. It is being investigated for the treatment of colorectal and other solid tumors.
