Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Novospray is an investigational artificial-saliva oral spray developed for symptomatic relief of xerostomia in people with Sjögren's syndrome. In a randomized crossover study sponsored by the Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam, participants used Novospray and a placebo spray for two-week treatment periods separated by a washout period. The product is intended to lubricate and moisten the oral cavity as a saliva substitute; no specific pharmacologic active ingredient, molecular target, or target-mediated mechanism was publicly identified.
