NovoTTF-100L(P) + oxaliplatin + capecitabine is a combination therapy comprising the NovoTTF-100L(P) medical device, intravenous oxaliplatin, and oral capecitabine used chiefly in the treatment of advanced colorectal cancer. NovoTTF-100L(P), also known as Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields), is a non-invasive, wearable device designed to deliver alternating electric fields to disrupt cancer cell mitosis. Oxaliplatin is a platinum-based chemotherapeutic agent that causes DNA crosslinking and induces apoptosis in rapidly dividing cells. Capecitabine is an oral prodrug of 5-fluorouracil, inhibiting thymidylate synthase and impeding DNA synthesis. The combined approach aims to enhance antitumor activity by integrating bioelectric disruption of cell division (TTFields) with cytotoxic chemotherapy targeting DNA synthesis and repair. XELOX or CAPOX is the commonly used term for the chemotherapeutic regimen of capecitabine plus oxaliplatin, shown to be effective in metastatic colorectal cancer[1][3][4].
