NOVS-105 is a small molecule inhibitor targeting Fatty Acid Binding Protein 4 (FABP4) and Fatty Acid Binding Protein 5 (FABP5), currently under development by Celloram. The drug is in the IND-enabling phase for the treatment of Triple-Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC). FABP4 and FABP5 are members of the fatty acid-binding protein family that facilitate the intracellular transport of long-chain fatty acids and other lipophilic ligands. In the context of oncology, these proteins are often upregulated and contribute to tumor progression, metabolic reprogramming, and the maintenance of an immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. By dual inhibition of FABP4 and FABP5, NOVS-105 aims to inhibit tumor growth and metastasis in aggressive cancers like TNBC.
