Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NOX-100 is a small molecule nitric oxide (NO) neutralizing agent developed by Medinox. It acts as a nitric oxide scavenger, binding and inactivating excessive levels of NO without affecting the low physiological concentrations necessary for normal biological functions. This mechanism distinguishes it from enzyme inhibitors that block NO synthesis entirely. The drug has been investigated primarily for conditions associated with excessive production of nitric oxide, such as intradialytic hypotension during hemodialysis, cardiopulmonary bypass surgery, and septic shock. Its development has included collaboration between Medinox and Orient Europharma for distribution in select Asian-Pacific regions[2][3][4][8].
