Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NOxyCure is an investigational topical nitric oxide (NO) gas delivery system developed by NOxygen Therapeutics for the treatment of chronic and infected wounds, including diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs), venous leg ulcers, and surgical site infections. The technology utilizes a humidity-activated sachet placed within a wound dressing to provide localized, sustained release of nitric oxide. This mechanism of action is designed to disrupt bacterial biofilms, provide broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity, stimulate angiogenesis, and reduce inflammation to promote wound healing. While clinical data from the ProNOx1 randomized controlled trial has been referenced, the product is currently in the preclinical/investigational stage and has not yet received FDA clearance.
