Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NOZIN Nasal Sanitizer is an over-the-counter (OTC) alcohol-based topical antiseptic developed by Global Life Technologies Corp for nasal decolonization. The formulation contains 62% ethyl alcohol (ethanol) as the active ingredient, delivered in a proprietary moisturizing base known as Nozaseptin, which includes jojoba and Vitamin E to maintain skin integrity. It is specifically designed to be applied to the nasal vestibule to kill 99.99% of germs, targeting a primary reservoir for pathogens such as *Staphylococcus aureus*. In clinical and hospital settings, it is utilized for preoperative infection prevention and as an alternative to antibiotic ointments like mupirocin to reduce the risk of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) without contributing to antibiotic resistance.
