NP-18-2 is an orally-bioavailable small molecule drug developed by Nanopharmaceutics, Inc. It is currently in Phase 2 clinical development for Central Nervous System (CNS) disorders. NP-18-2 acts as a selective full agonist of the 5-Hydroxytryptamine receptor 1A (5-HT1A), a ligand and likely agonist for the Sigma-1 receptor, and a selective antagonist of the 5-Hydroxytryptamine receptor 2B (5-HT2B). It also demonstrates selective binding to the Sigma-2 receptor.
