Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NP-401 is a peptide-based therapeutic candidate developed by Nano Intelligent Biomedical Engineering Corporation (NIBEC) that modulates the Klotho signaling pathway. Klotho is a protein primarily expressed in the kidney that functions as a coreceptor for fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF23) and exerts potent anti-fibrotic, anti-oxidative, and anti-aging effects. NP-401 is designed to mimic or enhance Klotho activity to counteract the progression of renal fibrosis and chronic kidney disease (CKD), as well as address muscle-wasting conditions like sarcopenia. The drug is currently in the preclinical stage of development, aiming to restore regenerative signaling pathways that are typically downregulated in chronic renal and age-related diseases.
