**NP-pArg-siRNA** is an experimental nanotherapeutic formulation consisting of a **magnetic nanoparticle (NP) coated with poly-arginine (pArg) and conjugated with small interfering RNA (siRNA)**. It is designed for efficient intracellular delivery of siRNA, enabling gene silencing in target cells. The poly-arginine surface facilitates cell membrane penetration and intracellular delivery without relying on endosomal escape, which minimizes cytotoxicity compared to PEI or polylysine-coated nanoparticles. Upon cellular internalization, the siRNA is delivered to the perinuclear region, engaging the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC) for gene knockdown. NP-pArg-siRNA has shown effective delivery and gene silencing in brain, breast, and prostate tumor cell lines in vitro[2].
