NP001

NP001 is an autologous human polyclonal regulatory T cell (Treg) therapy developed by Novabio Therapeutics for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Alzheimer's disease, and multiple system atrophy (MSA). The therapy involves the isolation of a patient's own Tregs, which are then expanded ex vivo and re-administered via intrathecal injection. These cells are characterized by the expression of markers such as Foxp3, CD25, and CD4. The primary goal of NP001 is to modulate the immune system and suppress the chronic neuroinflammation that contributes to neuronal loss in these conditions. It is currently being evaluated in a Phase 1 clinical trial (NCT06671236) to assess its safety and tolerability in patients with neurodegenerative conditions.
