NPA7 is a novel, bispecific designer peptide engineered to simultaneously activate the Guanylyl cyclase-A (GC-A) and Mas receptor (MasR) signaling pathways. By targeting these two independent cardioprotective systems (GC-A/cGMP and MasR/cAMP), NPA7 aims to provide synergistic protection against hypertension and cardiovascular aging. Preclinical research indicates that NPA7 reduces cellular senescence in human cardiomyocytes and endothelial cells, restores the NAD+/NADH ratio, and increases Sirt3 expression. In spontaneously hypertensive rat models, chronic subcutaneous administration of NPA7 effectively lowered systolic blood pressure and attenuated markers of cardiovascular senescence, positioning it as a potential therapeutic candidate for geriatric cardiovascular diseases.
