Overview

NPI-028 is a Chinese herbal medicine derived from kudzu (Pueraria lobata) that has been studied for its potential to reduce alcohol intake and treat alcoholism. It contains puerarin (measured at 26 mg/g dry weight) and has been used in China for centuries to counteract alcohol intoxication. Preclinical studies in alcohol-preferring rats and monkeys have shown that it can reduce alcohol consumption.
