Overview

This NPY1R-targeting peptide-drug conjugate is an experimental therapeutic candidate being developed by MolGenie and Valdospan for the treatment of various solid tumors, including breast cancer, Ewing sarcoma, melanoma, pancreatic cancer, and prostate cancer. The conjugate consists of a peptide ligand derived from or analogous to Neuropeptide Y (NPY) that specifically binds to the Neuropeptide Y receptor type 1 (NPY1R). NPY1R is frequently overexpressed in several human cancers while having limited expression in healthy tissues, providing a basis for targeted delivery. Upon binding to the receptor, the PDC is internalized through receptor-mediated endocytosis, allowing for the intracellular release of a cytotoxic payload to induce cell death. The program is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
