Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NR100063 is a proprietary prebiotic multi-fraction fiber mixture developed by Numico Research BV (now Danone Nutricia Research). It is composed of a specific combination of short-chain galacto-oligosaccharides (scGOS), long-chain fructo-oligosaccharides (lcFOS), and pectin-derived acidic oligosaccharides (pAOS). The mixture is designed to address gut dysbiosis and impaired intestinal barrier function, which are common drivers of chronic immune activation in HIV-seropositive individuals. By selectively stimulating the growth of beneficial gut bacteria such as Bifidobacterium species and promoting the production of short-chain fatty acids, NR100063 aims to reduce systemic inflammation and support the maintenance or recovery of CD4+ T-cell counts. It has been evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials as a specialized nutritional intervention for patients with HIV-1 infection.
