Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NRCT-201XR is an extended-release small molecule drug candidate being developed by Neurocentria for the treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The drug utilizes a novel mechanism of action by elevating intracellular magnesium (Mg2+) levels specifically within synaptic terminals. This elevation is intended to increase synaptic density and plasticity, addressing the neurobiological deficits associated with ADHD. As of late 2022, NRCT-201XR was in Phase 2 clinical development following the submission of an Investigational New Drug (IND) application. It is part of a broader pipeline of magnesium-based therapeutic candidates that includes NRCT-101SR and NRCT-202XR.
