Overview
**NRL-3** is an investigational intranasal formulation developed by Neurelis, Inc., utilizing Intravail® transmucosal absorption enhancement technology for rapid, noninvasive delivery. It is designed as an acute therapy to terminate seizures that have progressed to status epilepticus, a life-threatening condition involving prolonged or recurrent seizures without recovery between episodes. As of 2020, it was in preclinical or early development stages following pre-IND planning, building on the company's expertise with similar nasal benzodiazepine sprays like NRL-1 (diazepam nasal spray, approved as VALTOCO).[3][5]
