Overview

NRP2 siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of Neuropilin-2 (NRP2), a receptor protein that is frequently upregulated in advanced prostate cancer. NRP2 has been identified as a key mediator of resistance to androgen receptor signaling inhibitors (ARSIs) such as enzalutamide. By knocking down NRP2 expression, the siRNA inhibits the nuclear translocation of NRP2 and its subsequent interaction with the androgen receptor (AR), which prevents the transcription of specific oncogenes. Preclinical research conducted by the University of Nebraska Medical Center and the University of Bonn indicates that NRP2 inhibition can sensitize treatment-refractory prostate cancer cells to enzalutamide, leading to increased apoptosis and reduced tumorigenicity.
