Overview
NS-21 is a topical, cortisone-free skin cream developed as a prophylactic agent to maintain skin moisture and potentially prevent acute radiation dermatitis (ARD) during radiotherapy or concurrent chemoradiation therapy in patients with head and neck cancer. Its ingredients include calendula, Aloe vera, allantoin, vitamin E, beta-glucan, hydrolyzed soy protein, grape seed oil, zinc, honey, emu oil, avocado oil, jojoba oil, rose hip oil, urea, and others. These natural agents are recognized for their skin-protective, moisturizing, anti-inflammatory, and healing properties. NS-21 has been studied primarily for its skin-moisturizing effect and its ability to reduce high-grade dermatitis in patients undergoing radiotherapy, showing safety and some efficacy for this indication[1][2].
