Overview

NSDHL siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to target and silence the expression of NAD(P)-dependent steroid dehydrogenase-like (NSDHL), an enzyme crucial to the cholesterol biosynthesis pathway. In preclinical studies, siRNA-mediated knockdown of NSDHL has been shown to inhibit the formation of tightly cohesive tumorspheres, reduce breast cancer stem cell (BCSC) populations, and suppress tumor initiation and growth in orthotopic breast cancer models. It is primarily utilized as a research-use-only (RUO) laboratory tool to investigate the role of cholesterol metabolism in cancer stemness and progression.
