Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**NsG0202** is an investigational, retrievable encapsulated cell biodelivery implant developed by NsGene for mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease. The stereotactically implanted device contains the genetically modified human retinal pigment epithelial cell line NGC-0295 within a semipermeable hollow-fiber membrane. The encapsulated cells continuously secrete nerve growth factor into the cholinergic basal forebrain, aiming to restore local trophic support for degenerating cholinergic neurons while preventing the implanted cells from contacting host tissue and allowing device retrieval. NsG0202 was evaluated in a small open-label Phase 1b study in Alzheimer's disease.
